About Image Processing Technologies
The Image Processing Technologies LLC patent portfolio consists of 12 patents and two pending applications, all of which relate to identification and tracking of objects in digital imaging. The technology is widely used in the fields of digital cameras and camcorders, drowsy driver detection, video surveillance, video gaming, and medical imaging.
The technology embodied in the portfolio was the result of development of a Generic Visual Perception Processor (“GVPP”), a system designed to detect the presence of objects in a motion video signal, and then to locate and track those objects as they move in real time. The technology was developed by Patrick Pirim of Bureau d’Etudes Vision ("BEV"), a French technology research company, beginning in 1986.
Image Processing Technologies LLC is a subsidiary of, and is managed by, General Patent Corporation, which offers patent enforcement on a contingency basis.
